The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is leading an investigation into a series of three separate drive-by shootings that all targeted the same residential home in Surrey during the month of December. Authorities confirm the incidents appear to be directed at a specific resident but are not connected to ongoing extortion schemes or gang conflicts.
Chronology of the Targeted Attacks
According to police reports, the first shooting occurred on December 7, shortly before 8:00 a.m., in the 11000-block of 140A Street. The RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit responded to the initial call of shots fired.
The same residence was then targeted again on December 27 at approximately 7:45 a.m.. The most recent incident took place on Sunday, December 29, just after 3:00 a.m.. In each case, assailants fired shots from a vehicle, with bullets striking various parts of the home.
Police Stress Targeted Nature, Seek Public Assistance
In a news release issued Wednesday, the Surrey Police Service emphasized that while these shootings are believed to be targeted towards an occupant of the home, preliminary investigations have ruled out links to broader extortion trends or gang warfare. This distinction is a key part of the ongoing probe.
No injuries have been reported to any residents or neighbours as a result of the three shootings. The investigation has now been taken over by the RCMP, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Police are urging residents in the area to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or vehicles. They are specifically asking anyone with relevant information, home surveillance video, or dash camera footage from the vicinity around the times of the incidents to come forward.
How to Provide Information to Investigators
Individuals with any details that could assist the investigation are asked to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502. The repeated nature of the attacks on the same property has heightened concerns and underscores the urgency of the police appeal for public cooperation to help identify those responsible.
