Separate Case: Mississauga Youth Charged in York Region, GTA Break-Ins

York Regional Police have charged a 16-year-old Mississauga male following an investigation into a series of commercial break-and-enters across York Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

In March 2026, York police, in partnership with Peel Regional Police, began investigating a series of break-and-enters in Vaughan where the lone suspect forced entry into businesses overnight, targeting safes and cash. Through the investigation, officers identified the suspect.

On June 11, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Mississauga and arrested the suspect. Officers said they located a replica firearm believed to have been used during the break-ins and recovered a stolen vehicle.

The accused has been charged with four counts each of break and enter commit and mischief under $5,000, three counts of fail to comply with release order, and two counts each of theft over $5,000, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime. At the time of the offences, the accused was bound by a release order.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7445, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
