Mississauga Man with Lifetime Driving Ban Arrested After Fleeing RIDE Stop
Suspended driver arrested after fleeing Mississauga RIDE stop

A Mississauga man, already prohibited from driving for life, is facing a new slate of charges after police say he fled a roadside sobriety checkpoint in late November.

Incident at Britannia Road Checkpoint

The event unfolded in the early hours of November 28, 2025, near Britannia Road and Millcreek Drive. Officers conducting a seasonal Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program directed a vehicle to stop. Upon interaction, police immediately detected the smell of alcohol on the driver's breath and requested a roadside screening sample.

Instead of complying, the driver allegedly accelerated away from the stop at a high rate of speed. A search ensued, leading to the suspect's subsequent location and arrest.

A 'Prolific' Offender with a Lifetime Ban

Investigators identified the driver as 43-year-old Blair Titterson of Mississauga. Peel Regional Police have described him as a "prolific suspended driver." Court records reveal Titterson is subject to a lifetime driving prohibition due to prior convictions for driving offences.

His previous convictions include charges for failing to provide a breath sample and driving while suspended.

New Charges and Ongoing Campaign

As a result of the November incident, Blair Titterson has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Refusal to comply with a breath demand

He is required to attend court to answer to these allegations.

This arrest occurred within Peel police's annual holiday RIDE campaign, which runs from November 15 to December 31. The initiative involves increased roadside checks across Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. Police report that as of a recent Monday, the campaign had checked approximately 11,000 vehicles, resulting in 660 Highway Traffic Act charges and 85 individuals charged with impaired driving-related offences.
