The Ottawa Police Service has announced that a 50-year-old Ottawa man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in late March. David Cheddesingh was arrested on May 25, two days before the police issued a media release on May 27 detailing the charges.
Details of the Incident
The alleged offence took place between 11 p.m. and 12 midnight on March 28 on Colonel By Drive, beneath the Mackenzie King Bridge. Police had previously sought public assistance on March 29 to identify the suspect in the assault.
Investigation and Charges
The investigation by the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit remains ongoing. Authorities believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
