LaSalle Police Confirm Nancy Grewal's Killer Remains at Large

The individual responsible for the fatal stabbing of personal support worker Nancy Grewal on the doorstep of a client's home in LaSalle is still on the loose, authorities have confirmed. Nearly a week after the tragic incident, investigators have not made any arrests and do not have a suspect in custody.

Police Statement on the Investigation

LaSalle police spokesperson Alaina Atkins emphasized that while the public's interest is acknowledged, the integrity of the investigation must be protected. "There have not been any arrests in relation to this investigation," Atkins stated. "Should that occur, we will release that information. We understand the importance of keeping the public informed so when we have information to share, we will. We must also protect the integrity of the investigation and we are not prepared to compromise it."

Details of the Fatal Incident

On March 3, shortly before 9:30 p.m., LaSalle police and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Todd Lane. They discovered a woman, later identified as Nancy Grewal, 45, of Windsor, suffering from stab wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. Police confirmed her identity the following day, but have since provided limited details about the homicide or the ongoing investigation.

Nancy Grewal's Background and Potential Motives

Grewal, who immigrated to Canada from India in 2018, was working alone as a personal support worker at a client's home when she was attacked. Beyond her profession, she was known as a social media influencer and a vocal critic of the Khalistan Indian separatist movement. In a recent social media video, Grewal expressed fears for her safety, alleging that someone had attempted to set her house on fire.

While police have not commented on these statements or widespread speculation linking her death to her Khalistan criticisms—including claims of responsibility by some groups on social media—they have confirmed the homicide was targeted. "Investigators are confident this was not a random act of violence," said LaSalle Chief Michael Pearce. "Ms. Grewal's murder is being investigated as an intentional act against her. All information is being considered. While we recognize the significant public interest in this case, we will not share information that will compromise the investigation, including leads, tips, and investigative avenues."

The case continues to draw public attention, with calls for labeling Khalistan extremists as terrorists following the murder, but authorities remain focused on their investigative efforts without compromising details.
