Peel Regional Police have laid attempted murder charges against an 18-year-old man following what investigators describe as a targeted daytime shooting in Mississauga that sent one person to hospital with serious injuries.
The violent incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in a residential neighborhood, sparking a significant police response and concern among local residents. According to authorities, this was not a random act of violence but a targeted attack.

Kian Hosseini, an 18-year-old from Brampton, now faces serious charges including:
- Attempted murder
 - Discharge firearm with intent
 - Unauthorized possession of a firearm
 - Possession of a loaded prohibited weapon
 
Police were called to the scene around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday after reports of multiple gunshots rang out in the area of Glen Erin Drive and Battleford Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of a shooting and quickly located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Victim's Condition and Police Response
The victim was transported to a local trauma center with what police describe as serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Medical staff continue to monitor the victim's condition as the investigation progresses.
