Maskwacis RCMP Arrest 5, Seize Meth and Loaded Shotgun in Traffic Stop
Maskwacis RCMP seize drugs, firearms, arrest five

Maskwacis RCMP have taken five people into custody and confiscated a significant quantity of drugs and an arsenal of weapons, including a loaded shotgun, following a decisive traffic intervention earlier this month.

Traffic Stop Leads to Major Bust

The police action unfolded on January 11, 2026, when officers were investigating a report of threats involving a firearm. An RCMP member located a suspect vehicle parked outside a residence. Upon approach, drug paraphernalia was clearly visible inside, prompting the immediate arrest of all occupants.

Cache of Weapons and Drugs Uncovered

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a dangerous haul. Police discovered a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and 48.5 grams of methamphetamine. The seizure also included an assortment of other weapons such as knives, batons, and bear spray.

Multiple Charges and Court Appearances

The investigation resulted in a series of charges against the individuals involved:

Charlene Bliss Green, 41, faces a lengthy list of charges including flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of property obtained by crime, nine counts of failing to comply with release conditions, three weapons offences, and possession of a controlled substance.

Billy Clay Green, 45, and Terrisa Ermineskin, 32, were each charged with multiple weapons offences, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions.

These three individuals were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin at a later date.

Michael Gregory Troy Omeansoo, 35, and Teisha Faith Crier, 29, were charged with three weapons offences and possession of a controlled substance. Both were released after a court appearance and are set to return to court on February 5 in Wetaskiwin.

RCMP Commitment to Community Safety

Insp. Richard McKay, commander of Maskwacis RCMP, emphasized the persistent challenge of gun-related crime in the area. He noted that dozens of illegal firearms have been removed from the streets in the past year alone.

“Firearms continue to be a serious concern in our Maskwacis community,” stated Insp. McKay. “Last year Maskwacis RCMP seized over 87 crime guns. Our commitment to taking these dangerous weapons along with drugs remains our top priority.”

The RCMP reiterates its focus on disrupting the flow of both illegal weapons and narcotics into the community. Authorities encourage anyone with information about drug or firearm activity to contact the Maskwacis RCMP Detachment at 780-585-3767 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
