Thunder Bay man, out on bail, faces new gun and drug charges after Toronto arrest
Man on bail faces new gun, drug charges in Toronto

A 30-year-old man from Thunder Bay, previously released on bail in connection with a multi-million dollar drug investigation, is now facing a new raft of serious charges following his arrest in downtown Toronto on Christmas Day.

Christmas Day Arrest in Downtown Core

According to Toronto Police, Jordan Agostino was arrested by the Gun and Gang Task Force in the Yonge and Bloor St. E. area on December 25, 2025. Police allege that Agostino fled from officers but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

Upon his arrest, officers allege they found Agostino in possession of a loaded firearm, a significant quantity of cocaine, and a large amount of cash. A subsequent search reportedly uncovered additional cash, Oxycodone, and more cocaine.

Agostino now faces a series of charges including multiple weapons offences, drug trafficking, and proceeds of crime. He is also charged with five counts of failing to comply with a release order. None of these charges have been proven in court.

Connection to Major Thunder Bay Drug Bust

The arrest is not Agostino's first brush with major law enforcement action. He was one of nine people arrested in February 2024 as part of Project Marble, a 13-month investigation by Thunder Bay Police.

That investigation resulted in what police called the largest drug bust in the city's history. Authorities seized more than $2 million worth of cocaine, approximately $100,000 in cash, five Rolex watches, four handguns, and vehicles. The total value of seized items was estimated at over $3 million.

Bail Release and Alleged Breach

Following the 2024 bust, Agostino was granted bail in June 2024 by Justice Michael March. He was released on a $250,000 no-deposit bail with several conditions. These included residing with a 52-year-old Toronto woman who acted as his surety and pledged $50,000, staying out of Thunder Bay except for court appearances, and adhering to curfews.

Law enforcement sources allege that after his release, Agostino moved to Toronto, cut off his court-ordered GPS monitoring device, and failed to appear for a scheduled court date, leading to the additional failure to comply charges.

A law enforcement source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, characterized the situation as an example of a revolving door justice system. "This guy is a moron," the source stated. "He's like a lot of them. They just can't seem to help themselves, no matter how much a judge bends over for them."

Ongoing Legal Process

Following his Christmas Day arrest, Agostino was reportedly released again on a $200,000 bail. He is scheduled to answer to the new charges in court at a future date.

Toronto Police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact police at 416-808-5300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
