Man Critically Injured in Targeted Shooting During Mississauga Robbery Attempt
Man critically injured in Mississauga robbery shooting

A man is fighting for his life in hospital following a violent attempted robbery in Mississauga that escalated into a shooting on Thursday morning.

Confrontation in Business Parking Lot

The incident unfolded around 11 a.m. on December 4, 2025, in the area of Derry Road and Cardiff Boulevard. According to Peel Regional Police Constable Tyler Bell-Morena, a couple inside a black Cadillac Escalade was targeted by three Asian males who were in a black Jeep Wrangler.

The initial confrontation involved the female victim, who was approached by the suspects. The male victim then exited the vehicle in an apparent attempt to intervene. The altercation moved to an adjacent parking lot west of the initial location, where a physical fight broke out.

Suspects Armed with Bat and Gun

During the struggle, the male victim was shot. Police confirmed that the assailants were armed with both a baseball bat and a firearm. The bat was recovered at the scene and is considered a suspect weapon.

"It appears it's just a confrontation between three armed suspects with a baseball bat, a firearm, and an unarmed victim," Constable Bell-Morena stated. He clarified that no exchange of gunfire occurred and no firearm was found at the location. The female victim was not physically injured.

Police Investigate Targeted Incident

Authorities have indicated the attack "appears to be targeted" and was not a random act of violence. The victims were in the area for business purposes, though the exact relationship between them and the suspects remains unclear.

While the working theory is an attempted robbery, police could not confirm if any property was actually stolen. "It's a fair assumption, if this was a robbery attempt, that she might have had some valuables, and that might have been the intention," Bell-Morena explained.

The three suspects fled the scene and remain at large. The investigation by Peel Regional Police is ongoing as they work to identify and locate the individuals responsible for leaving a man in critical condition.
