Police in Windsor successfully interrupted a break-and-enter at a local place of worship, leading to the arrest of a suspect found with a dangerous item. The incident occurred on the evening of December 2, prompting a swift response from officers.

Swift Police Response Foils Break-In

According to the Windsor Police Service, authorities were called to a location in the 3000 block of Walker Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Officers arrived at the scene within minutes of receiving the report. Upon arrival, they located the suspect inside the building's inner vestibule, where he was attempting to force his way through a second, interior door.

Arrest Reveals Possession of Incendiary Device

The 37-year-old man was taken into custody without any incident or struggle. However, during the arrest process, officers made a concerning discovery. The suspect was in possession of an incendiary device. This possession directly violated the conditions of an existing release order he was under at the time.

Charges Laid Following Investigation

As a result of the investigation, the Windsor man now faces criminal charges. He has been formally charged with break-and-enter at a place other than a dwelling. Additionally, he has been charged with breach of probation related to the conditions of his previous release order.
