Windsor Police Arrest Man Following Violent Early-Morning Incident
Windsor police have taken a 32-year-old man into custody following what authorities describe as a violent early-morning incident that involved two separate assaults, multiple vehicle collisions, and an attempt to flee from law enforcement officers.
Disturbance on Baseline Road
Officers responded to a residence in the 6600 block of Baseline Road shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday following reports of a disturbance between two men. According to police statements, an argument between the individuals escalated rapidly, leading to one man allegedly assaulting the other.
When a woman attempted to intervene in the altercation, she too was assaulted by the suspect. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and received medical attention.
Vehicle Collisions and Attempted Flight
The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle, despite being under a court-ordered driving prohibition. Before leaving the property, the individual struck a parked vehicle in the driveway and allegedly collided with the front door of the residence, causing significant structural damage to the home.
An officer later spotted the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly refused to pull over and instead accelerated away from the scene. Police subsequently located the vehicle abandoned on 9th Concession Road near County Road 17.
