Lambton College Shooting Suspect Remains in Custody Without Bail Hearing

As authorities continue their intensive manhunt for one individual charged with murder in connection with the deadly shooting at Lambton College in Sarnia, another suspect arrested in the case has yet to seek bail. The incident, which occurred at the college's Lion's Den pub, has left one person dead and two others injured, sending shockwaves through the community.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The shooting took place in the early hours of Friday, April 10, 2026, on the patio of Lambton College's Lion's Den pub. Dane Nisbet, a 20-year-old resident of Sarnia, was fatally shot during the altercation. Two additional men, both former teammates of Nisbet's from the Mooretown Flags junior C hockey team, sustained injuries in the violent episode.

Oudom (Richard) Bun, a 23-year-old from London, was arrested on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his residence on Stonehenge Place in London. He faces serious charges including second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. Following his arrest, Bun was transported to Sarnia and held for a video bail hearing.

Legal Proceedings and Bail Status

Bun appeared via video link from Sarnia police headquarters during a Sunday morning hearing in a London-based virtual courtroom that handles weekend arrests across Southwestern Ontario. During this brief appearance, which lasted approximately seven minutes, the charges against him were formally read.

However, no formal bail hearing took place during this session. Under Canadian law, individuals accused of murder must apply for bail through the Superior Court of Justice rather than the Ontario Court of Justice where this initial appearance occurred. The justice of the peace issued orders prohibiting Bun from communicating with the two injured victims, a witness, and two co-accused while he remains in custody.

Bun's case has been adjourned multiple times since his arrest. He appeared in virtual courtrooms on Monday and Thursday, with his next scheduled appearance set for the following Monday. Throughout these proceedings, he has remained in custody at the South West Detention Centre in Windsor.

Ongoing Investigation and Additional Suspects

Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to search for Kyaw (Chin) Doe, a 24-year-old London resident wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. Doe faces charges of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possessing a firearm while prohibited. Authorities have warned that Doe should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public.

Sarnia's police chief has publicly urged Doe to surrender to authorities. The police force released an updated photograph of Doe on Wednesday as part of their nationwide search effort.

Two additional individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Ava-Leigh Lightheart, 19, of Sarnia, is scheduled to return to court on Monday, while Johnathan Osborne-Walsh, also 19 and from Sarnia, has a court appearance scheduled for Friday. Both were arrested on Sunday following the shooting incident.

When questioned about potential bail proceedings for his client, Bun's defense lawyer Antin Jaremchuk declined to comment, stating only: "No comment at this time. Thanks." The legal process continues to unfold as investigators work to piece together the events that led to this tragic campus violence.
