KFC worker stabbed over gravy order in Las Vegas

A violent altercation over gravy at a Las Vegas fast-food restaurant has led to an attempted murder investigation and two arrests. The incident, which left a KFC employee hospitalized, unfolded after a customer became enraged about his order.

Altercation Erupts Over Gravy

The confrontation occurred on Saturday, December 27, at a KFC location in North Las Vegas. According to police reports obtained by local media, 32-year-old Gerald Carter became "upset about his gravy" and felt disrespected by the staff. The situation did not end there.

Investigators say Carter later returned to the restaurant with his 48-year-old uncle, James Carter. Surveillance footage from the scene reportedly shows the violent escalation: Gerald Carter allegedly stabbed the employee multiple times while James Carter placed the victim in a chokehold.

Suspects Detained and Charged

North Las Vegas Police officers responded to the stabbing call and detained several individuals. Gerald Carter was taken into custody. During the arrest, police found a folding knife on him.

In a statement to police, Gerald Carter claimed he was involved in a fight but insisted the knife never left his pocket. He alleged the employee had been calling him names and showing disrespect. Despite his claims, the evidence led to serious charges.

Both Gerald and James Carter were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. During a court hearing on December 30, Judge Jonathan Cooper set bail at $100,000 for Gerald and $10,000 for James.

Ongoing Investigation and Aftermath

The injured KFC worker was rushed to University Medical Center for treatment. The exact nature and severity of the employee's injuries have not been publicly disclosed by authorities.

The North Las Vegas Police Department has confirmed the case remains under active investigation. A department spokesperson told media outlets that this active status limits the information they can currently release. KFC corporate has not yet issued a public statement regarding the violent incident at its franchise location.

This shocking event highlights the potential for routine customer service interactions to turn dangerously violent, leaving a worker seriously injured and two men facing grave criminal charges.
