A Saturday evening in Gatineau turned tragic following a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a 77-year-old woman. The incident has led to serious charges against a 37-year-old man from Val-des-Monts.

According to the Gatineau Police Service, the initial emergency call came in at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2025. The crash occurred on Lorrain Boulevard, located north of its intersection with Valiquette Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the situation was more complex than a simple two-car accident. The event involved two separate collisions. The first was a minor incident, but it was followed by a more serious head-on collision.
The driver involved in the initial, minor crash was confirmed to be uninjured. However, the occupants of the second vehicle suffered grave consequences. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Arrest and Charges Laid
Tragically, the passenger, a 77-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries. The driver of that vehicle remains in the hospital but is reported to be in stable condition.
