The probe, initiated by Durham Regional Police in May 2025, centered on reports of a female being groomed into escorting, with allegations that she was threatened with physical violence and coerced into working in the sex trade across Durham Region and the GTA.
Arrests and Seizures in Pickering
In March 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Pickering, leading to the apprehension of the three suspects. During the operation, authorities seized several drugs, a loaded firearm, and prohibited overcapacity magazines, highlighting the severity of the case.
Charges Against the Accused
The individuals charged include Jeffery Earle Shirley, 47, from Pickering, who faces 16 charges. These encompass five trafficking-procuring offences, five firearm-related offences, four drug trafficking offences, and two counts of breach of a prohibition order. Notably, Shirley was already bound by a weapons prohibition order at the time of his arrest.
Taylor Daniel Eibbett, 36, of Oshawa, is facing nine charges, including five trafficking-procuring charges and four drug-related offences. Amanda Lee Partridge, 34, of Pickering, is charged with material benefit over 18, indicating involvement in profiting from exploitation.
Police have expressed concerns that there may be additional victims and have released photos of the accused to aid in the investigation. Other Criminal Incidents Across Ontario
In related news, Toronto Police are seeking public assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a break-in on March 4. The incident occurred at an apartment building in the Broadview Ave. and Danforth Ave. area, where the suspect forced entry into a unit and stole personal belongings. The man is described as approximately 30 years old, wearing a light-coloured jacket with fur on the hood, green pants, and brown shoes.
Markham Robbery and Oshawa Stabbing
York Regional Police have charged a 46-year-old Whitby man, Alden Nunes, in connection with a robbery in Markham. The incident involved two suspects who assaulted a victim and stole his satchel before fleeing in a silver SUV. Nunes faces charges of disguise with intent and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Police are still seeking two unidentified suspects.
Additionally, Durham Police have charged William Taylor Hayes, a 24-year-old Oshawa man, in connection with a stabbing on February 26. Hayes, who was already bound by a weapons prohibition, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and other offences after a verbal altercation escalated into violence.
Woman Charged in Uxbridge Incident
In a separate case, a 42-year-old Courtice woman has been charged after a vehicle struck three firefighters and a transport truck driver in Uxbridge in November 2025. The incident occurred while emergency crews were assisting with a crash, resulting in charges of three counts of careless driving causing bodily harm.
