Windsor police are actively investigating a tragic pedestrian collision that resulted in one fatality on Tecumseh Road East. The incident occurred late Wednesday evening and involved two vehicles striking a woman as she attempted to cross the street.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to authorities, the crash took place at approximately 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Tecumseh Road East. Investigators have determined that a 65-year-old woman was crossing the roadway mid-block when she was initially hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The impact was severe enough to throw the victim into the opposite lane, where she was subsequently struck by a second vehicle. Emergency responders transported the woman to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later succumbed to her wounds.

Following the collision, Tecumseh Road East was closed between Windermere Road and Lincoln Road for several hours while the Windsor Police Service traffic reconstruction unit conducted a thorough investigation of the scene. The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
