Family Dog Dumbledore Missing After Caledon Home Invasion
The Caledon community is rallying to help locate a beloved family pet after a distressing home invasion early Tuesday morning. According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. at a residence near Mount Hope Road and Old Church Road.
Dog Flees During Robbery
During the invasion, the family dog, named Dumbledore, escaped from the home in fear and has not been seen since. Police describe Dumbledore as a small dog with distinctive curly or wavy white fur. The family is deeply concerned for his safety and well-being.
Investigators from the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit are leading the search, with support from the Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services. They emphasize that there is no ongoing threat to public safety related to this incident.
Public Assistance Requested
Authorities are urging residents to be vigilant and report any possible sightings of Dumbledore. They are also seeking any surveillance footage from the area that might provide clues about the dog's whereabouts or details about the robbery.
"We are asking anyone with information to come forward," said a police spokesperson. "Every bit of help counts in reuniting this dog with his family."
