Regina marked the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day with a vibrant celebration at Victoria Park on Friday. The event, organized by the Regina National Indigenous Peoples Day Committee, brought together community members, elders, and leaders to honor Indigenous cultures and heritage.

The festivities included traditional drumming, dancing, and storytelling. Indigenous artisans showcased their crafts, and attendees enjoyed traditional foods. The event also featured educational booths highlighting Indigenous history and contemporary issues.
Community Gathering
Elder Mary Smith opened the event with a prayer and welcome. "This day is about recognition and reconciliation," she said. "We celebrate our resilience and share our culture with all Canadians." Regina Mayor Sandra Masters attended, emphasizing the city's commitment to reconciliation.
