Police responded to a call in central Winnipeg around 2:55 PM EDT, where they found the victim with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect fled and remains at large.

According to police spokesperson Constable Jason Michalyshen, the attack appears unprovoked. “This was a random act of violence,” he said. “We are urging anyone with information to come forward.”
