Trump's Social Media Spree Amplifies Military Tribunal Calls

In a late-night social media surge, former U.S. President Donald Trump posted more than 160 times, a barrage that included amplifying a call for his predecessor, Barack Obama, to face a military tribunal.

A Night of Unrestrained Posts

The flurry of activity occurred on the platform Truth Social on the night of Monday, December 2, 2025. Among the many shares was a post originally published by an account under the handle "@juliesnark1731." The post made a stark guarantee, stating: "When the Director of National Intelligence tells the public, Obama committed TREASON and President Trump is your President, you can 100% know we will see his MILITARY TRIBUNAL."

Trump's account directly reshared this post to his own followers. Shortly after, the original poster celebrated the repost on another platform, X, writing: "President Trump reposting my Obama Tribunal post should be some serious nods that IT IS COMING. Wooohooo!! JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!"

A Pattern of Escalating Rhetoric

This incident is not an isolated one. Calls for military tribunals against Trump's political opponents have become a common theme among his most ardent supporters, particularly those aligned with the QAnon conspiracy movement. Trump himself has previously advocated for such actions against not only Obama but also former Republican Representative Liz Cheney.

He has also publicly stated that former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris should be jailed. In May of 2025, Trump amplified another Truth Social post demanding "PUBLIC MILITARY TRIBUNALS" for Obama, sharing it alongside a photo of the two former presidents.

From Tribunals to Threats of Execution

The rhetoric surrounding military tribunals may now be overshadowed by even more severe threats. Last month, Trump suggested that Democratic veterans in Congress should be hanged after they released a joint video encouraging U.S. military members to disobey unlawful orders.

Trump labeled their actions as "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!" and boosted a post from an anonymous account that read: "HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!" This represents a significant and alarming escalation in the language used against political adversaries.

The events of December 2nd underscore a continuing pattern where online provocations and extreme rhetoric are directly amplified from the highest levels of political influence, fueling a cycle of conspiracy and threats that challenges democratic norms and political discourse.
