Trump Insults Democrats as 'Happy Dumocrats' on July 4

President Donald Trump began July Fourth with a social media post insulting Democrats, coining the term "Happy Dumocrat" on his Truth Social platform. He wrote, "Has anyone ever seen a Happy Dumocrat?" and signed the post as "President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Late-Night Posts Targeting Democrats

The morning post followed two middle-of-the-night messages that appeared to mock the appearances of prominent Democrats. The first post juxtaposed a photo of Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff with an image of Pee-wee Herman, the comedic character played by Paul Reubens. The second post showed an edited image of James Talarico, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, altered to appear as if he is missing teeth. This image was placed alongside a picture of Alfred E. Neuman, the mascot of Mad magazine.

Independence Day Celebrations

Later in the day, Trump praised the Independence Day celebrations in Washington, D.C., despite the cancellation of a planned parade due to extreme heat. He wrote, "Despite the heat, which isn’t as bad as predicted, the crowds in D.C. are INCREDIBLE! The love of our Country has never been stronger!"
