Toronto Teen Charged with Attempted Murder in Park Stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Flemingdon Park over the weekend. The incident occurred on Sunday in the neighbourhood southeast of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

Details of the Incident

According to Toronto Police, the victim and his friends were involved in a physical altercation with the group of accused earlier in the day. Later, while the victim was walking through Flemingdon Park, the suspects returned in their vehicles. The seven accused assailants approached the victim and engaged in another physical altercation. During this second encounter, one of the assailants allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Charges Laid

Seven suspects have been identified and arrested. A 16-year-old Toronto boy, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with attempted murder. Four other teenage boys—a 17-year-old Toronto boy, another 16-year-old Toronto boy, and two 15-year-old boys from Bowmanville—are each charged with aggravated assault. All four are scheduled to appear in court on June 10.

Additionally, Ahmadullah Rahimi, 18, of Toronto, is charged with aggravated assault. Qudratullah Rahimi, 20, of Toronto, is charged with aggravated assault and is to appear in court on August 6.
