Toronto Police Seek Help to Identify Homicide Victim

Toronto Police have released images of a necklace and a jacket in an effort to identify a male homicide victim whose body was discovered over the weekend in a downtown parking lot. The appeal for information is linked to an incident that occurred on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the Dundas-Seaton Streets area of Cabbagetown.

According to police, officers responded to a medical complaint and were flagged down to assist with an unresponsive person found on a laneway inside a private garage. The victim exhibited obvious signs of trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that the death was a homicide. Initially, the victim was erroneously identified as a woman, but investigators have since determined that the victim is male.

The victim is described as approximately 5-foot-6 with a medium build, dark hair, and dark eyes. Police believe he may be of Asian descent.

Authorities have released two images: one of a silver necklace with a heart-shaped pendant featuring wings and a clear stone in the center, and another of a black jacket bearing a “Vision Youth Leaders Program” logo. The logo appears to match that of Vision Youth, a Markham-based organization founded in 2001 that complements school academic curricula to help youth develop life skills.

An email seeking comment from Vision Youth regarding whether police had contacted them to assist in identifying the victim was not immediately returned.

This marks Toronto’s 10th homicide of the year. Anyone with information about the victim’s identity or the investigation is urged to contact police at 416-808-5100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 or 222tips.com.
