Freak Accident Claims Kanata Youth
A young employee of a Kanata auto repair shop died after a tire he was inflating ruptured in what authorities describe as a freak accident. Jordan Junger, the victim, suffered fatal injuries at Kanata Wheels on May 9. Ottawa police are investigating.

Roy Allen, who turned 100 in April, is expected to become the first centenarian to complete the 5K at the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. Run Ottawa's race director believes Allen is the oldest person to attempt the distance.

One person died in a townhouse fire on Russell Road. Ottawa Fire Services report that ten tenants have been displaced. The arson unit is investigating the cause.
