A fugitive who was on the Bolo Program's most wanted list has been arrested. Mohammed Abdullahi, 34, of Toronto, was taken into custody by Belleville Police on Thursday following a drug bust in that city.
Arrest details
Abdullahi was wanted for first-degree murder in the July 2023 shooting death of Mohamed Ahmed, the brother of Juno Award-winning rapper Mustafa the Poet. The arrest came after a series of raids in Belleville's east end involving Belleville Police, Kingston Police, and the Ontario Provincial Police, according to Quinte News. A Pickering man was also arrested, and drugs were seized.
In addition to the murder charge, Abdullahi now faces charges of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), proceeds of crime under $5,000, and obstructing police.
Previous arrest
This arrest comes nearly six months after Yasir Mohamed, 27, was charged with first-degree murder in the same case. Mohamed was arrested by the Toronto Police fugitive squad in November 2025. He was also charged with pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of failure to comply with a recognizance order.
The killing
Mohamed Ahmed was found inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene after a daylight shooting in Cabbagetown, near Sherbourne and Shuter Streets, on July 25, 2023.
Court heard last year that Ahmed had called rapper Ridge “Big Rax” Kazumba, who was in Congo at the time, the day before his slaying to warn him that people wanted Kazumba and his son dead. Kazumba, who performed at the Junos with Ahmed's brother in 2022, was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday with no chance of parole for 12 years after being convicted of the second-degree murder of Nakhari Henry-Robinson.
