Pedestrian Critically Injured in Barrhaven Crash

The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public's help following a serious collision involving a vehicle and a female pedestrian on Monday evening in the Barrhaven area.

Incident Details

At approximately 7:20 p.m., emergency services were called to the OC Transpo Fallowfield Park & Ride. A 29-year-old woman had been struck by a vehicle and was found with critical injuries. She was transported to hospital, where she remains in life-threatening condition, according to a police press release.

Vehicle Not an OC Transpo Bus

Julie Kavanagh, media relations officer for the Ottawa Police, confirmed that the vehicle involved is not believed to be an OC Transpo bus. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances of the crash.

Witness Account

Linda Howie, a Barrhaven resident, did not see the collision itself but drove past the scene shortly after. She called 911 after noticing the victim lying on the ground near the entrance to the transit hub. According to Howie, the woman was unresponsive and located near the middle of the westbound lanes at the pedestrian crossing on Fallowfield Road and Via Park Place.

Appeal for Information

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage from the area around the time of the collision to come forward. Investigators from the Fatal Collision Investigation Unit are leading the probe.
