Former Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia launched a blistering attack on MAGA podcaster Benny Johnson on Wednesday, escalating a heated feud within President Donald Trump's loyalist circles.
Greene's Accusation
Greene took to X, formerly Twitter, to denounce Johnson, writing: "You are a LYING scumbag @bennyjohnson and just to be clear we are definitely not friends. All you cover and elevate are trending LIES. And get paid to do it. Literally the most repulsive level of MAGA."
Origin of the Dispute
The confrontation began when Johnson called Greene's ally, Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, a "pig" in a video discussing allegations that Massie offered an ex-girlfriend hush money ahead of primary elections. Johnson stated, "It's always the dirtiest, filthiest pigs that squeal the loudest. And Thomas Massie is a pig who's been squealing, calling President Trump's administration the Epstein administration."
Massie's campaign responded with a statement shared by Axios, asserting, "These last minute dirty tricks don't merit a response. The trashy lies they're putting out now demonstrate how desperate they are."
Johnson's Counterattack
Johnson also posted a video earlier this week, accusing Greene of disloyalty. "If you want a friend in politics, get a dog. Dogs are loyal. Marjorie Taylor Greene is worse than a dog. She is not loyal to the president or to her party or really to anyone other than herself," he said.
He then amplified an accusation from fellow Trump loyalist Laura Loomer, who claimed Greene had fled the United States, sold her home in Rome, Georgia, and purchased a mansion in Costa Rica. Loomer posted, "MTG has fled the country to Costa Rica where she is now living in a $5 million mansion after selling her home in Rome, Georgia for $1.1 million in March of 2026."
Greene's Defense
Greene fired back, calling Johnson's coverage "a clinic on how to call out the lies of social media influencers that get paid to spew propaganda." She clarified that she never fled the U.S. and has another house under contract in Georgia to be closer to her family. "And now I'm on vacation, gee what a scandal, you moron. You could have reached out and asked me about the complete and total BULLSHIT Loomer was posting, BUT NOPE!! Instead, you chose to trash talk me, name call me, and spread the lies for money," Greene wrote.
Johnson's Response
Johnson defended his reporting, stating, "I'm entitled to my opinions on these matters. I serve my audience. That's my job. And unlike you, I won't run away from my job when things get tough. Even worse, you are now siding with left-wing extremists who attacked us all for years and want our movement and leaders dead."
He concluded, "More drama and crash outs. Got it. But thanks for proving my point. Repeat the left's lies about me which I have denied over and over again and there is absolutely zero evidence of. You're working for the left. Doing their job. Trying to destroy MAGA."
