Swing the Pendulum
After seeing the poll you printed April 23 ('Liberal lead over Tories widens,' Bryan Passifiume), I realize that Forrest Gump was right: 'Stupid is as stupid does.' We've had 11 years of Liberal rule with declining economic results. Yet we rinse and repeat the cycle again. I think people by now need to remember the pendulum principle: If the pendulum stays too long on one side, it upsets the balance. It seems when you leave the same party in power too long, there is a complacency that sets in with tired ideology that's difficult to steer away from. If the past is any predictor of the future, this majority may be a blessing in disguise that may wake up the electorate when they digest these next four years.

(We will all have a lot less money, too, after another Liberal majority, not to mention the debt and unending spending. Elbows up!)
Government Is Not the Ticket
Oh, how I long for the days when parents prepared their children to grow up and be responsible for their own life — you know, become an adult! Instead, it would appear that — based on 'Ticketmaster ditches resales' (Denette Wilford, April 25) — we now have a bunch of children, pretending to look/act as adults, who apparently are not aware that they each have a brain with the ability to make intelligent decisions! So we run to our parents — oops! I mean the government (maybe one in the same) — to solve any and all perceived problems we encounter in life! Bottom line on the above story, if it's more money than what you're willing to pay, then don't buy it! Simple! Effective! Oh, and if all 'resellers' get stuck with all the tickets they paid for, they may not do it again! Again, simple. Effective. God help us — obviously we need the help!
