Lara Trump Hints at Presidential Run, Says Family Has Thick Skin

Lara Trump is remaining tight-lipped about her long-term political aspirations, at least for now. The daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump appeared alongside her husband, Eric Trump, on Thursday's episode of the 'Hang Out with Sean Hannity' podcast, where both addressed the possibility of succeeding the president.

Eric and Lara Trump Weigh In on Presidential Ambitions

After Eric Trump stated he 'would never rule anything out,' Hannity turned to Lara Trump, who remarked: 'They're big shoes to fill now, Sean. There has never been a president [like] Donald Trump. There will never be another one like President Donald Trump.' When Hannity suggested she could be 'the first woman president,' Lara Trump said she 'wouldn't rule it out for anyone in the family.'

She elaborated on the family's resilience, saying: 'We've seen the absolute nastiest and as bad as it can get, but you know what they did to all of us over that period of time is, if you continue to rub your hands, you'll get a callus. If you continue to beat somebody enough, you develop a thick skin — and we have all developed such thick skin that I almost don't think there's anything they can throw at any of our way — anybody in our whole family — that we wouldn't be ready for or able to handle at this point.'

Lara Trump's Growing Political Role

Lara Trump, the former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, has taken on an increasingly public role in her father-in-law's second term. She has hinted at an interest in entering the political sphere. In addition to hosting 'My View with Lara Trump' on Fox News and the 'Right View with Lara Trump' podcast, she is also an aspiring musician who has released several singles on streaming platforms. Her most-streamed track on Spotify is her cover of Tom Petty's 1989 hit 'I Won't Back Down.'

Eric and Lara Trump were both in China this week, where President Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping for a two-day summit to discuss trade and the U.S. conflict with Iran. The couple's appearance on the podcast comes amid speculation about the future of the Trump political dynasty.
