Prime Minister Mark Carney will travel to Dublin and Paris for bilateral talks intended to deepen trade and security ties, before attending the G7 leaders' summit in France.
Visit to Ireland
In Dublin, he will meet the Taoiseach of Ireland, Micheál Martin, in the first bilateral visit to Ireland by a Canadian Prime Minister in nearly a decade. The Prime Minister will also visit County Mayo for talks with the President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, including about expanding ties across agri-food, digital innovation, AI, pharmaceuticals, and climate.
Visit to France
He will also visit France, where he will hold talks with President Emmanuel Macron about Canada-France partnerships including on trade and defence. Artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technologies, aerospace, and critical minerals are among the sectors to be discussed.
G7 Summit
The Prime Minister's trip to Europe, from June 11-17, will include the 2026 G7 Leaders' Summit in Évian, France. A statement from the Prime Minister's Office said the G7 talks will focus on building partnerships with Canada, including on clean energy and emerging technologies such as AI and quantum.

In an increasingly uncertain world, we are deepening these ties – and those across the G7 – to build greater certainty, security, and prosperity for Canadians and our partners across the globe,” Mr. Carney said in a statement.
