Calgary police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a kidnapping and firearms-related incident. Gagandeep Singh, 29, is facing charges including kidnapping and weapons offences, according to a statement released by the Calgary Police Service on Thursday.
Authorities say Singh has ties to Calgary, British Columbia, and Ontario. They believe he may be armed and dangerous, urging the public not to approach him but to contact police immediately.
The investigation began after reports of a kidnapping in Calgary earlier this week. Details of the incident have not been fully disclosed, but police confirmed that firearms were involved. No injuries have been reported.
Singh is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. Police have released a photograph of Singh in hopes of generating leads.
Anyone with information on Singh's whereabouts is asked to call the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
