Burnaby RCMP have released photos of a suspect in an alleged road rage incident where a knife was brandished. The incident occurred on April 19, 2026, in the area of Boundary Road and Grandview Highway.
Incident Details
On Sunday, April 19, Burnaby RCMP received a call from a driver who reported being verbally threatened by another driver. The suspect allegedly made threatening gestures with a knife during the encounter, according to Cpl. Mike Kalanj in a news release on Wednesday.
Victim's Account
The threatened driver, along with two passengers in the vehicle, managed to take several photos of the suspect before he fled the scene. “At one point the suspect was close enough to attempt to open the passenger-side door of the victim’s vehicle from his own seat several times, before producing a knife and making threatening comments,” said Kalanj.
Police Appeal
After investigating the allegations, police have released the photos in hopes of identifying the suspect. “Our actions and words have consequences, and nobody should have to go through what the victims in this incident went through,” Kalanj added.
