Are Most UCP MLAs Separatists? Questions Arise

Earlier this year, all NDP MLAs publicly declared they oppose separation. UCP MLAs were asked to publicly declare their position as well. To date, only 10 have made such a declaration, with all 10 declaring they will vote to remain in Canada.

As for the remaining 36 UCP MLAs, they have made no such declaration and manage to avoid answering the question directly. Two weeks ago, the premier made it clear the official position of her UCP is to stay part of Canada, and that her word on the subject was final. Yet, at a press conference a few days ago, the Transportation minister skillfully dodged the question, as the premier stood next to him smiling.

I’m not sure what I find more troubling, the hypocrisy in UCP leadership or that 75 per cent of Alberta’s governing UCP MLAs may secretly favour breaking up Canada. I’ve emailed the premier asking for transparency on this and encourage others to do likewise.

Kids Social Media Ban Unrealistic

In regards to a social media ban, I wish it were possible. How will you stop them? They will lie about their age. I had child restrictions on electronic devices. Google how to get around them and you’ll find pages of links to instructions.

My child wasn’t allowed a phone until she was 10 and had to walk to school. I got her a dumb phone. It’s the only way they have to contact you. There are no pay phones anymore. She used her friends’ smartphones. Can’t put the genie back in the bottle.
