A 74-year-old man has died and a 68-year-old man has been injured following a two-vehicle collision in Strathcona County on Monday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Range Road 220, just north of Township Road 522 near the Half Moon Lake subdivision, according to the Strathcona County RCMP detachment.
In a news release issued Tuesday, RCMP reported that the 74-year-old male driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other driver, a 68-year-old man, was transported to a hospital by ambulance, where he received treatment for his injuries. Authorities have not released the names of those involved.

Strathcona RCMP Const. Cheri-Lee Smith told Postmedia that the crash occurred at the main entrance to the Half Moon Lake subdivision. The timing of the incident, near the end of rush hour, caused traffic disruptions in the area. A collision reconstructionist was called to assist with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
