Two women from a Utah-based political group are hilariously mocking Canadian billionaire Kevin O'Leary after he made a truly wild accusation about them on Fox News. The "Shark Tank" star claimed that Elevate Strategies, a Democratic group in Utah opposing his data center, is being paid by China to spread negative "misinformation" online.
O'Leary's Accusation
During a Fox News appearance, O'Leary accused Gabi Finlayson, co-founder of Elevate Strategies, of running a "cell" for the Chinese government. He claimed a "massive spike in misinformation" about data centers on social media and said his team traced IP addresses to Elevate Strategies. "Gabi, what are you doing? And who's paying you?" O'Leary asked, speculating they might be "proxies for the Chinese government."
The Hilarious Response
In a video response, Finlayson and co-founder Jackie Morgan laughed off the accusation. "If we were Chinese operatives, we would be the worst operatives in the entire world," Finlayson said. Morgan jabbed at O'Leary's appearance, noting he wore flip-flops on national television. "We are not taking the criticism of anyone who is wearing flip-flops and a suit," she said.
Mocking the Investigation
The women joked that O'Leary must have used "Mr. Wonderful's Nancy Drew Little Detective Agency" to dig up information. They pointed out that running Democratic campaigns in Utah is hardly lucrative. "If we were in this to be making money, we would be doing literally anything else," Morgan said, adding that O'Leary, as a business advisor, should understand that.
Call for Transparency
Finlayson suggested investigating those who stand to profit from the Stratos data center, not them. "Let's be so for real: That is not us," she said. She accused O'Leary of doing "what all men who are scared and have no actual facts do – accuse women of being Chinese operatives."
Written Statement
Elevate Strategies also published a written response, noting their business relies on small-dollar donors and Substack subscriptions. "There is no secret benefactor. There is no shadowy foreign government," the statement read. Finlayson concluded her video with a blunt message: "And keep my name out of your fucking mouth."
