Donald Trump, who has a history of verbally attacking female reporters, lashed out at Fox News host Jacqui Heinrich on Sunday after she interviewed a Democratic lawmaker who criticized him on air.
Khanna's Predictions
During an appearance on "The Sunday Briefing," Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) predicted that Democrats would win back the House in November's midterm elections. He cited rising gas and food prices, the ongoing war in Iran, and the Trump administration's failure to release the Epstein files or hold Epstein's associates accountable as reasons for the predicted Democratic victory.
Trump's Response
Trump responded with a lengthy post on Truth Social, attacking both Khanna and Heinrich. He accused Heinrich of not providing pushback against Khanna's statements, calling Khanna a "sleazebag" and a "wolf in sheep's clothing." Trump also criticized Fox News for featuring Khanna and other liberal figures like Bill Maher and Hakeem Jeffries, claiming that such appearances undermine the network's credibility.
Trump further argued that "MAGA Republicans" hate Fox News because of these segments, despite the contributions of many anchors and commentators he praised.
Khanna's Retort
Khanna responded on X, stating that he goes on Fox to discuss issues like Trump's economic agenda to build steel, ship, and battery plants in struggling communities. He emphasized the importance of talking to everyone, including Trump voters, without resorting to insults, as a way for Democrats to win and unite the country.
