A new campaign ad from Democratic New York congressional candidate George Conway sparked a visceral response from the White House on Monday. In the ad, Conway promises that if elected, he will work to impeach President Donald Trump and put him “away for good.”
Conway's Threat
“The only thing your name is gonna be left on when I’m done with you is the orange jumpsuit you’re gonna have to wear in prison,” Conway said in the ad. “And you see that building back there? That’s where we’re gonna hold your third and final impeachment trial, the one that’s gonna put you away for good.”
White House Response
In a statement to Fox News Digital, a White House spokesperson claimed that Conway was dumb and insane. “Lightweight George Conway is a stupid person’s idea of a smart person,” the spokesperson said. “His severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement syndrome, has melted his brain and made him crazy in the head.”
Conway, the ex-husband of former Trump senior counselor Kellyanne Conway, is the co-founder of the anti-Trump political action committee The Lincoln Project. He has been one of the president’s harshest critics during both of his terms in office.
Conway is aiming to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) in the state’s 12th congressional district.
