The B.C. Prosecution Service announced Friday that Richmond RCMP Const. Beyond Xi faces two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. The charges stem from a collision on July 7, 2025, at the intersection of Williams Road and No. 4 Road in Richmond.

Shortly after 9 p.m., a marked RCMP vehicle responding to an emergency call with lights and sirens activated collided with a truck. The impact pushed the truck into two pedestrians and a resident of a nearby property, according to authorities.

Five hospitalized, pedestrians most seriously hurt

Five people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The group included Const. Xi, the truck driver, the two pedestrians, and the resident. The RCMP confirmed that the two pedestrians sustained the most serious injuries among those involved.
