Hamas Thrives in Canada Despite Terror Ban, Intelligence Warns
Hamas Thrives in Canada Despite Terror Ban

A recent intelligence report has revealed that Hamas, an organization Canada has officially designated as a terrorist entity for over two decades, is not only present but actively operating within the country. This comes amid the Carney government's controversial recognition of the state of Palestine.

Hamas's Canadian Network Exposed

According to a Global News investigation by Stewart Bell and Jeff Semple, intelligence sources indicate there are approximately 450 individuals in Canada with ties to Hamas. The report details that this network includes senior officials, some of whom hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.

Canada listed Hamas, also known as the Islamic Resistance Movement, as a terrorist organization in 2002. The government describes it as a radical Islamist-nationalist group that emerged from the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and has been responsible for numerous attacks against civilian and military targets since the 1990s.

Criticism of Canada's Inaction on the Muslim Brotherhood

Despite it being illegal to participate in or contribute to any activity of Hamas, critics argue the group is flourishing. A significant point of contention is Canada's failure to follow the United States in moving to ban chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood, which was the forerunner of Hamas.

This inaction persists despite warnings from prominent figures. Former Liberal justice minister Irwin Cotler has described the brotherhood as "a standing threat to Canadian national security, to Canadian values and to our own shared identity and commitment."

Adding to the concern, Imam Mohammad Tawhidi, head of the Global Imams Council, stated unequivocally at a recent national security conference in Ottawa, "Let me be unequivocal. (There is) no threat greater to national security today than the Muslim Brotherhood … in its reach … in its ideological influence … in its ability to infiltrate, manipulate and mobilize. This is not rhetoric, it is reality."

Propaganda and Antisemitism on the Rise

Postmedia’s Warren Kinsella has reported extensively on the sophisticated network within Canada that promotes Hamas propaganda. This network allegedly includes charities, paid protesters, professional organizers, NGOs, and unions working together to relentlessly vilify Israel and Jews.

Analysts warn that this coordinated effort has contributed to a disturbing explosion of antisemitism across the country. The situation presents a clear and present danger, suggesting that Canada is ignoring this infiltration at its own peril.
