Windsor police have launched an arson investigation following a fatal house fire in Amherstburg that claimed the life of a 47-year-old man.
Fire on Texas Road
Police say officers responded to an active residential fire in the 100 block of Texas Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. on July 3. Firefighters from the Amherstburg Fire Department were also dispatched and successfully extinguished the blaze.
During a search of the residence, firefighters discovered the victim, a 47-year-old man, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation Underway
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the Windsor Police Service has confirmed that the Arson Unit is leading the probe. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
