The Adam-Cat Connection

The contest draws on the central relationship in Masters of the Universe between Prince Adam and his fearful green tiger companion, Cringer. Prince Adam is the secret identity of He-Man, and his pet cat Cringer is timid and reluctant to fight. However, when Adam transforms into He-Man using the power sword, Cringer transforms into the massive armoured Battle Cat.

About the Movie

The new live-action remake, Masters of the Universe, stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and is set for release on June 5. The film comes more than four decades after the muscle-bound hero debuted as a Mattel action figure in 1982. He-Man became a pop culture icon after the 1983 animated series and has inspired numerous adaptations, including the cult-favorite 1987 movie starring Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella, and Courteney Cox.

According to the film's trailer, Prince Adam was sent to Earth as a boy and lived a normal life as Adam Glenn, stuck in a boring office job. After finding the mythical Sword of Power, he returns to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the rule of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto.
