The Vancouver Police Department was called by residents who discovered a large, exotic cat under their porch on Monday. The animal, identified as a serval, had escaped from its owner and was found hiding in a residential area.
Officers responded to the scene and safely secured the serval, which was later returned to its owner. No injuries were reported. The serval is a wild cat native to Africa, known for its long legs and spotted coat.
Police reminded the public that keeping exotic animals requires proper permits and secure enclosures to prevent such incidents.
