Retired Teacher Wins Third Lottery Prize in Ontario

A retired school teacher from Dunchurch, Ontario, has proven that luck can strike more than once. Nigel A., a 63-year-old former educator, has won his third lottery prize, this time taking home $50,000 from an Instant Cash multi-win ticket.

Three-Time Lottery Winner

Nigel's winning streak began in 2014 when he won an undisclosed amount. He struck again in March 2019, winning $250,000 on an Instant $250 Grand scratch ticket purchased at a Canadian Tire Gas Bar in Parry Sound. Now, in 2026, he has added another $50,000 to his winnings.

Nigel discovered his latest win while playing his ticket at his favourite store. He shared his excitement with the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, saying, “I had my ticket validated and pumped my fist in the air!”

When asked about winning for a third time, Nigel remarked, “It feels surreal. I’m living my dream.”

Plans for the Windfall

With his latest prize, Nigel plans to vacation in Honduras and purchase an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The winning ticket was purchased at McKellar General Store on Centre Road in McKellar, Ontario.

OLG Privacy Changes

In April 2026, the OLG changed how it shares lottery winner information with media outlets, now using only first names for privacy reasons. However, full names of winners over $1,000 are published on the OLG website for 30 days, including the name, city, and prize won.
