According to a recent news release, the selection is crafted to represent "the classics, the kind of things you grew up eating and still crave today." Founder and CEO Jess Reno describes Bam Bam as having a "future nostalgic feeling," calling it "a love letter to the food and energy we all know and love."

Bam Bam is the brainchild of the team behind Nemesis, a growing local food company renowned for its coffee shops, including Nemesis Coffee, which has been recognized among the world's best. With five locations across Vancouver, North Vancouver, Surrey, and Coquitlam, and the operation of Dope Bakehouse in North Van, the group brings extensive experience to this new venture.
The concept draws inspiration from "design, food, and the cultural moments that define North American nostalgia." Situated near B.C. Place stadium at 160 West Georgia Street, the 2,800-square-foot space will accommodate 55 guests. The decor will feature elements reminiscent of baseball clubhouses and early hip-hop, with leather seating that evokes a 1960s ambiance.

Scheduled to open on April 1, Bam Bam taps into the popular trend of combining sweet and savory elements, a movement seen in other Vancouver establishments like Duffin's Donuts and Cream Pony, which recently expanded to a second location on Main Street.
The local doughnut scene has experienced significant fluctuations in recent years, with successes such as Lee's Donuts expanding while longtime favorites like Cartems have closed. This dynamic landscape highlights the competitive yet evolving nature of Vancouver's culinary offerings.
