The much-awaited Calgary Stampede 2026 midway food lineup has been released, featuring a mix of delicious creations and adventurous bites. This year's menu of over 65 creations promises a mix of deep-fried classics and bold flavours. Themes range from International Delights to Wild and Wacky and Traditional Twists, ensuring something for everyone.
For those seeking something unique, the candied pickle offers a sweet and tangy experience. Crunchy critter corn provides a twist on traditional Mexican street corn (elote), topped with crunchy dried mealworms. Dill pickle cotton candy combines sweet and savory in a surprising way, while the BBQ rib cookie brings a smoky flavour to a classic dessert.
Those wanting more traditional bites with a twist can enjoy a variety of hot dog creations, deep-fried pizza, or a funnel cake topped with freeze-dried Skittles. The cosmic funnel cake, a vibrant and colorful treat, will also be available.
“Every year our exhibitors push the boundaries, spending months developing imaginative and unexpected dishes exclusive to the midway,” said Ashley Warner, midway manager at the Calgary Stampede, in a news release. “It’s about delivering outrageously bold, fun and irresistible creations that give guests new ways to experience the excitement, creativity and spirit of the Calgary Stampede.”
There is also a selection of refreshing drinks on the menu, including the classic Big Buckin’ Lemonade, Coke Caesar, cotton candy dirty soda, and Dunkaroo latte. UFO-inspired burgers make an appearance: the Area 51 burger is a UFO-shaped burger filled with ground beef, nacho cheese, jalapeños, and shredded lettuce, stuffed inside a Doritos and cheese-crusted bun. The UFO pickled green cheese burger is a double patty smash burger topped with green pickle-flavoured mozzarella, sealed in a UFO press with a custom alien stamp.
Deep-fried delicacies include crab Rangoon wonton nachos, deep-fried street corn, deep-fried birria taco bomb, and garlic-parm twisted pickle. Dessert choices are extensive, featuring trending items like Dubai pistachio coconut ice cream and chocolate pistachio cheesecake mini donuts, or fun takes on fair food like the cheesecake taco mango chili lime waffle pop.
Gluten-free folks won’t be excluded, with the Gluten Free Factory booth offering deep-fried Oreos. For those wanting to keep it simple, midway classics like corn dogs and mini donuts will be available on Stampede grounds. The Calgary Stampede runs from July 3 to 12.
