Pearl Morissette Repeats as Canada's Top Restaurant
For the second consecutive year, Restaurant Pearl Morissette in Jordan Station, Ontario, has been named the best restaurant in Canada by the Canada's 100 Best Restaurants list for 2026. Located in the heart of Niagara region's wine country, the two-Michelin-starred establishment continues to impress with its innovative cuisine.
Jacob Richler, editor-in-chief and publisher of Canada's 100 Best, praised the restaurant's culinary excellence, stating: "Their cooking is forward-thinking, refined, profoundly connected to its place, unmistakably of the moment — and consistently delicious. The routine precision and quality being produced in that kitchen service after service is a rare pleasure to experience."
Toronto Restaurants Shine in Top 10
While Pearl Morissette took the top honor, Toronto's Quetzal secured fourth place, followed by Edulis at fifth, Alo at seventh, and 20 Victoria at tenth. Ontario dominated the top 10 with five restaurants, and the province tied with Quebec for the most restaurants on the entire list, each with 32 entries.
The judging panel, composed entirely of Canadian chefs, sommeliers, restaurateurs, food writers, and industry professionals, selected all restaurants. The full list is available online at canadas100best.com, with the print edition releasing on May 11.
