Barrie's annual Ribfest kicked off on July 4, 2026, at Heritage Park, offering a mouth-watering array of BBQ ribs and other grilled delights. The event, which runs through July 6, features multiple rib vendors from across North America, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
Ribs and More on the Grill
Attendees can sample a variety of rib styles, from sweet and smoky to spicy and tangy. Vendors include Silver Bullets, Boss Hog's, and Crabby's BBQ Shack, each competing for the title of best ribs. According to organizer Mike McCann, "We have some of the best ribbers in the business here. It's a great opportunity for people to taste different flavors and vote for their favorite."
Live Music and Family Fun
The festival also features live music performances throughout the weekend, with local bands playing rock, country, and blues. A kids' zone offers inflatable bouncers, face painting, and games. Admission is free, with proceeds from food sales supporting local charities.
Community Gathering
Ribfest has become a summer tradition in Barrie, drawing thousands of visitors each year. "It's a wonderful community event that brings people together," said attendee Sarah Thompson. "The ribs are amazing, and the atmosphere is fantastic." The event runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
