KDays, Edmonton's annual summer fair, has unveiled its most adventurous food lineup yet for 2026, featuring outrageous creations like donut poutines and Area 51 taco burgers. The event, running from July 19 to 24 at the Edmonton Expo Centre, promises to push culinary boundaries with a mix of sweet and savory innovations.
Wildest Food Creations
Among the standout items is the donut poutine, a dessert twist on the classic Canadian dish, swapping fries for glazed donut holes topped with cheese curds and gravy. Another headliner is the Area 51 taco burger, a fusion of taco and burger with a mysterious green sauce. Other offerings include deep-fried butter, pickle-flavored cotton candy, and a bacon-wrapped corn dog.
According to KDays spokesperson Sarah Thompson, “This year’s menu is our wildest yet, designed to surprise and delight fairgoers with bold flavors and Instagram-worthy presentations.” The lineup was developed in collaboration with local food vendors and chefs, with over 30 new items introduced for 2026.
Event Details and Attendance
KDays attracted over 750,000 visitors in 2025, and organizers expect similar numbers this year. The fair will also feature midway rides, live music, and cultural performances. Tickets are available online starting at $15 for adults, with discounts for children and seniors.
Thompson added, “We’ve seen a growing appetite for unique food experiences, and KDays is the perfect place to showcase Edmonton’s creative food scene.” The event has become a summer staple in Alberta, drawing families and food enthusiasts from across the province.
Community and Economic Impact
KDays generates an estimated $40 million in economic activity for Edmonton, supporting local businesses and vendors. The fair also partners with charities, donating a portion of proceeds to youth programs. This year, a portion of food sales will benefit the Edmonton Food Bank.
With its daring food lineup and community focus, KDays 2026 is set to be a memorable celebration of Edmonton’s culture and creativity.
