Denny's Canada, often hailed as 'Canada's Diner,' has officially launched a brand-new restaurant in the heart of North York, Toronto. This opening on December 23, 2025, serves as a capstone to the brand's 55th-anniversary celebrations and signals a strategic push for growth in Ontario.
A New Community Hub for North York
The new establishment is situated at 2 Sheppard Avenue East, at the bustling Yonge and Sheppard intersection. It represents the first Denny's location in this specific area, with company leadership expressing hopes for further regional expansion. The diner is designed as a bright, modern space that immerses guests in the vibrancy of North York.
Juan Lopez, the Franchise Business Development Manager for Eastern Canada, shared the team's enthusiasm. "We're delighted to officially open the doors of Denny's Yonge Sheppard!" Lopez stated. He emphasized the goal of creating a warm, welcoming environment where guests can enjoy classic favourites or discover new menu items.
Expansion Strategy and New Menu Launch
This location is not just another restaurant; it's a milestone. It is the first to open under a new franchisee, Arvind Sharma, and is a key part of Denny's Canada's national growth strategy. Ron Cecillon, Managing Director of Denny's Canada, explained, "We see tremendous opportunities for Denny's Canada to continue expanding across Ontario, and the opening of our new Yonge Sheppard location marks an exciting next step."
Coinciding with the launch, the diner is debuting its new 'Love-a-Bowls' menu across Canada. This launch features six new savoury bowls, crafted specifically for Canadian tastes and aligning with the brand's reputation for affordable, crave-able comfort food.
Round-the-Clock Service and Community Focus
The North York diner is now open for business, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With seating for 142 guests, it aims to be an active part of the local community. The philosophy is simple: it's always 'Diner Time' at Denny's, whether for a late-night snack, a family breakfast, or a casual dinner.
Denny's Canada, acquired in 1992 by the family-owned Northland Properties Corporation, operates and franchises 89 restaurants nationwide.
