The Regina Pats announced Tuesday the signing of forward Parker Trottier, a prospect of the Montreal Canadiens, to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement. The move bolsters the Pats' offensive depth ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Trottier's Background and Skills
Trottier, 17, was selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. He spent last season with the Spokane Chiefs, recording 24 goals and 38 assists for 62 points in 68 regular-season games. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward is known for his playmaking ability and hockey IQ.
"Parker is a talented young player with a bright future," said Regina Pats general manager Alan Millar in a statement. "We are excited to add him to our organization and believe he will make an immediate impact."
Impact on the Pats' Roster
The signing addresses a key need for the Pats, who are looking to improve their offensive production after finishing near the bottom of the WHL's East Division last season. Trottier is expected to slot into a top-six forward role and contribute on the power play.
"Regina is a great hockey city, and I'm thrilled to join the Pats," Trottier said. "I want to help the team win and continue developing as a player."
Future Outlook
Trottier will report to training camp in August and is expected to be a key piece for the Pats as they aim for a playoff berth. The Canadiens retain his NHL rights, and the WHL provides a strong development path for the prospect.
